Committee Members
We are pleased to introduce our committee members for the academic year 2023-24
Moving from Scotland, I became Head of Junior King’s in 2017. We are a King’s family; my husband is Head of University Admissions and my children have greatly benefited from being at the school. Junior King’s is caring and inclusive and my role is very varied and interesting. It is a privilege to work with the Friends’ Committee whose contribution is vitally important for our school community. I am immensely grateful to our team of parents who dedicate time and energy to the fun charity events.
We moved to Canterbury and joined JKS in Sept. 2022 after being in France for the past 9 years. Sure my son wears the uniform and is loving year 5, but it feels liken the whole family has joined, such has been the warmth of the welcome. I promised that I would get more involved in his school if ever we moved back to the UK, so here I am, on the FJKS committee, happy to help.
I have been Secretary of the FJKS for one year. This is a friendly and caring school, and we hope to reflect this in FJKS activities. If you have any ideas about FJKS events or if you would like to help with anything including the Committee, we'd love to hear from you!
We joined the JKS family last year in September 2021. I have a daughter in Year 3 and a son in Nursey. I simply admire how welcoming and accommodating JKS family is. My children thoroughly love their time at the school and the teacher’s dedication and professionalism towards the growing children is simply outstanding. I look forward to being part of the FJKS committee and I will support them in all ways possible.
We recently moved from Mexico City and have 2 kids in Year 3 and 4. They are the happiest at Junior Kings. We found the perfect supportive and nurturing environment for them on top of the academic excellence we were looking for. The community and JFKS have been amazing at welcoming us and I look forward to contributing in any way.
My son is currently in year 6 and he has been at the school since year 2. We love the welcoming and friendly community at the school and my son is thriving thanks to the wonderful teachers and staff at JKS. I’m very excited to be part of the FJKS committee and I look forward to supporting the team in any way I can.
Originally from New Orleans in the US, Tara has previously worked in PR but after having children decided to qualify as a personal trainer and barre instructor. She has daughters in years 6 and 2 and she is looking forward to helping the committee achieve it’s fundraising goals and to generally enhance the already wonderful atmosphere at JKS.
Since joining JKS in the summer of 2021, our two children year 7 and year 5 have loved every minute of school. The vast array of academic, sporting and artistic pursuits on offer means no day is ever the same. I’ve seen them grow immensely in all areas of their school life. From the teachers to the other parents, we have been welcomed by everybody at Junior Kings. I look forward to welcoming all new families and supporting the JKS community in any way I can.
Arriving back from a 10-year stint at Harrow International School, Bangkok, I became the Deputy Head Pastoral and DSL in September 2022. A King’s family, my children attend Junior King’s and The King’s School, and my wife teaches at Junior King’s in Year 1. The health and well-being of the whole school community are of utmost importance to me. Happy, healthy children form the foundation of what we hold dear at Junior King’s, and out of this, success in their chosen pathway hopefully follows.
My family joined JKS in September 2021 and we feel very welcomed by the wonderful school community. In this short time, both my children have forged great friendships and settled in very well! The balance of academics and co-curricular activities keep them challenged. My daughter who started in year 8 was very well prepared to join senior school this September. I’m really looking forward to being a part of FJKS and giving my support in any way I can.
Camilla Webster has joined JKS as the new Head of Pre-Prep. She moved from Suffolk with her family and both girls now attend JKS in Y3 and Y7. Alongside a love of education and early years, Camilla has a passion for indoor plants, design and her little dachshund.
I'm Charlyn, a proud parent of 2: Thayer (23 months old) and my sweet 4 yr old Amelie, who, after having a great start to her school life in Nursery last year, has now started Reception. Just like her, I'm on a mission to connect and thrive within this vibrant community. As an advocate for education and a strong believer in the power of collaboration, I'm excited to embark on this journey of parent involvement. I look forward to joining you and supporting all efforts.
