About the Event
Burns Night marks the anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, a poet and one of Scotland’s most famous and celebrated Scots. The Friends of Junior King's take great pleasure in inviting you to our 2024 Burns Night Supper and Ceilidh on Friday 26th January.
Guests will be greeted at 7pm at the Middle School Entrance by a Piper and be led to the Dining Hall.
Once there, we shall enjoy a hearty feast of haggis, neeps and tatties (vegetarian option is available) and perhaps a wee dram; celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns; witness a breathtaking sword dance performance and then dance the night away at our traditional Ceilidh.
Tickets cost £46 per person, plus a booking fee. Tables of 6 can be booked by a table lead. Please use the contact page to ask if you want us to try and squeeze in a table of 8. We'll do our best. You may also book individual tickets and you will be allocated to a table. The Ticket includes a reception drink, meal and a shot of whiskey.
Dress code is a Touch of Tartan. Kilts are very welcome.
Pre-Order your drinks from here to save the hassle on the night. We will send you the menu choices nearer the time, vegetarian option available too.
Carriages at midnight.
Any donations for the Burns Night Raffle to help support the Dean's Fund would be gratefully recieved. Please leave your contribution with Mrs Walker in the Main School Office by lunchtime on Thursday 25th January.
All net proceeds from the evening will go to The Dean’s Bursary Fund.
Thank you for your support and best wishes,

Italian red wine use the appassimento style of winemaking whereby the grapes are picked at their peak and left to dry in special crates until they’ve lost about 30% of their volume. This concentrates the sugars and flavors in the grapes. Described as full of plush fruit with hints of cherry, blackcurrant and damson and a heady sweet spice.

Similar to the Nero but a little less sweet and a little more spicey. Flavours of srewed plum, cherry and blackberry.

We were persuaded to include this wine on the list because it’s a Pinot Grigio from Sicily. As you might expect, it is a crisp wine with citrusy zing, but because of the hotter Sicilian climate, it also has peachy flavors and fragrant herby aromas. A PG with a difference.

Another organic white, the vines grow between orchards of elderflower and acacia trees which bring notes of peach, almond and blossom to this blend of fruity freshness.
